Fair enough. Not that it would affect me anyway, much as I dislike the experience, KORD is only 40 miles from our gaff, so it'd be silly not to use it to hop across the pond

I've used both.
When I moved here I flew Belfast to Newark, then had the joy of connecting internally to O'Hare. If you think flying into terminal 5 at ORD is bad, just try terminal 2, after a 2 hour delay on your departing flight. Oh, the fun!

Individual experiences vary of course but Newark is consistently poorly ranked for on-time departures. I read somewhere that it is the worst in the US and that 40% of all delayed flights in the US originate at Newark.

In this case, it was due to a thunderstorm but it was still a pain in the arse.

Here's one article reporting Newark as the worst for flight delays. Interesting that Chicago Midway is ranked worse than O'Hare.
