Default auto insurance whilst driving in the uk

Hi,
I will be visiting my daughter in the UK for 2 weeks and as she takes me around visiting my various friends and relatives, I would like to share the driving. I still hold a valid UK driver's license but am wondering about insurance cover for her car.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

No, you don't (if you are a US resident).

Regardless of whether your UK license is in date or not, it ceases to be valid when you cease being a UK resident.

Ensure that the insurance company covering the car will cover you using your US license. I'd get it in writing (in email at a minimum).

if you just need third party coverage,

ask your insurance agent about a Personal Liability Umbrella Policy.
It's worldwide coverage against liability claims.
