auto insurance
I have been searching for quotes for car insurance and have been quoted about $400 with the following coverage
Bodily injury 100/300,000
Property damage 50,000
PIP 250 deductible
Uninsured motorist BI 100/300000
Uninsured motorist PD 50000
Other than collision 500
Collision 500 deductible
Towing & Labour $75 disablement
Extended transportation 30 per day max 900.
Is this sufficient?

You liability. 100/300/50 is pretty much the norm, and well above state minimum requirements. IF you run someone over and kill them then it prolly won't be enough, but how much is at that point?
PIP 250 deductible
This is a your medical coverage, which by the looks of it the insurance company will pay your medical bills in the event of a accident. $250 is the excess you'll pay first.
Uninsured motorist BI 100/300000
Uninsured motorist PD 50000
Yes this is fine, you are insuring yourself for the same amount you are insuring everyone else.
Other than collision 500
Collision 500 deductible
standard, go lower on the deductibles if you can afford it.
Towing & Labour $75 disablement
standard
Extended transportation 30 per day max 900.
$30 per day towards a rental car should yours by in a covered accident. to a total of $900 maximum.

Well, this seems very good to me as I am paying $2000 for 6 months for 1 car with 1 driver in Miami.
Apparently Miami is a really expensive place to have auto insurance.
Oh well....

I got $1350 for 6 months for the two of us with Progressive in WA, but that's with UK driving licences - I expect I'll be able to renegotiate that when I pull my finger out and get a WA driving licence....

I pay about 2011 every 12 months for 2 cars (2003 and 2004) amd 2 drivers, both with American DL. One car is in my name (2004) and the other is in my wifes (2003)
We go with State Farm, we are both under 25 too.

My son is an American citizen we returned to the US last year and he joined the Air Force. He had UK insurance for 2 years but due to him being in basic training for over 6 months the insurance companys here would not consider it plus he is under 21. So he is paying $300 per month for 6 months for a VW Golf with Progressive who were the cheapest. After that and him then being 21 should go down.

Here ya go then....
I got myself a Ford Crown Vic prior to passing my driving test in June.
My wife and I both got insured on our 4.6 Liter v8 monster (used by most of the police) and at the time we both had learner permits....
Guess the car insurance cost.....
$790 all in for the year! Sorry guys.
