Its strange, but this is one of those things that I miss here. Just like the bombings (and some good stuff) I feel like my place is there.

To those who fought these wars and those of us who came thro WW11 this day means so much but like all things time will erode it, unfortunately.

There was a beeb documentary on last night that had 3 or 4 of them on - one was 106 years old, talking about his 6 times going "over the top". Had absolute total conviction that he survived when so many around him didn't because of a 3 line prayer he said before the charge.

Another who's age wasn't disclosed, but we worked out was 103, went on a trip to the war graves on the Somme, to lay a wreath on a mates grave. Hopped out of his wheel chair like a fella half his age, recited his "they shall not grow old" bit, then apologized for a tear in his eye. Flippin incredible some of these old boys.

The news in Cleveland did a street survey about what today was. Question "You know today is considered a holiday, what holiday is it?" One answer (among a lot of correct ones) "Veterinarians day"

Nor is it a holiday anywhere in the UK.

Whenever there is talk of the UK getting another holiday then this gets my vote.
