Hi everyone

I have my interview (marriage based AOS) in January. However, they put the location
on the letter as "711 Stewart Avenue, Garden City NY". Aren't AOS interviews supposed
to be at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan? I thought that the Garden City office was for
Naturalization only... Or have they changed that due to security concerns regarding
the Sep. 11 attacks? I am curious cause everything came through rather fast (a year,
which is really short for NYC). Also strange is that instead of taking my
fingerprints at Varick Street in Manhattan, they took it at the Jamaica Application
Support Center. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Thanks in advance, Rick.

Fingerprinting is suppose to be done closest to your home. Ours was done in Westchester County and the interview itself in NYC.

As for going to Garden City, hey, what the heck. Just hope they have your file on hand and have a successful interview.

BTW a year is not so bad. The average time for NYC is 14 to 18 months. Just sounds like you got the shorter end of the spectrum.

Perhaps they are speeding up. I just got a letter to appear in February and my wife
and I applied in November of 2000. Of course, we live in Las Vegas now, so needless
to say, we won't be showing up. 3 requests to transfer a file and still no action.
