AOS Interview June 7. questions

Good morning! We have our AOS interview in San Diego this coming Friday. I am the US citizen.
I have a few questions:
1) My husband had his medical in the UK, why are they asking for a form 693?
2) The only items we have jointly is our checking account and car insurance. Will that be a problem?
3) The appointment letter asks for another Affadavit of Support. I already submitted one last year when we first file AOS. Do I have to complete another one?
Thank you very much for any help!
Penny

Re: AOS Interview June 7. questions

Some INS offices will ask for the Vaccination Supplement if your medical is over a year old. It is also automatically on the checklist they send out and part of the package. Have you checked on the San Diego experience page at:

As for your joint documentation, it doesn't seem like much. You don't have a lease in both your leases? Utilities? Share cell phones? If not, then beef up with whatever you can get your hands on and have members of your family and a friend or two write up quick letters of testimony attesting to your marital state. They should follow a format similar to the ones required for the removal of conditions and state how long they have known you, when they have seen you together as a married couple, and have it notarized. Also include any cards and envelopes you have addressed to both of you for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

Yes do up a new I-864 to be on the safe side. Usually you can just update it with the missing filed IRS tax returns you filed since you applied for AOS. You should also get updated letters from your employers stating who is beneficiary to life, health and 401K plans.

Are you members of any organizations? For example, we used our AARP membership, membership in the Bronx Zoo, magazine subscriptions that come in both our names, etc.

Re: AOS Interview June 7. questions

We had our interview in San Diego this morning, and the INS interviewer sent us away, telling us to bring more "proof of marriage" and gave us a 3 page document outlining everything else she wanted: For instance: copies of cancelled checks, affadavits from friends, bosses, etc., and so on. Why didnt' they give us that in the first place?
We took everything on the original list: Copies of Utilities in both our names, Joint Checking Account, Joint medical cards. We go back on June 19 and hopefully we will get the stamp in husband's passport for GC. If not, I don't know what our next step will be. Penny
