Hey Yorkie, sorry if I misread you...prob with not seeing faces..cheers

I'd be interested to know where you got your figures. I can't find any real indication. Just for the sake of argument where did you get that information?

Same here. Gets the expats out every Saturday. Even some that have been here for 30 years. I love it. Wanna talk AYSO?

My son's team just went through to the regionals. They were placed second even though they were undefeated and the first place team had two losses. Shitty points system I say. But they went through tournament weekend like a dose of salts. The winning two teams from that both go on to the regionals so the last game is just for fun as both teams are going through. So my son's team relaxed had fun and hammered the other team 5-0.

The kind of banter that goes on here.

It's good for my English/British/whatever/WTF soul, but it just isn't the same as doing it for real.

Been here 4.5 years and still don't know a single person who I could tell to get lost/bugger off/get a life/***** off etc.

There are people back in Putney (you know who you are...) who are basically no more than acquaintances, with whom I have more meaningful conversations than I ever have with my 'friends' here.

And I'm in CA FFS. Must be even worse in TX, AL, MS

Ah well...
Oh great, here's my chance...

bugger off twat features!

Few and far between. I find that rather funny. Maybe I'm out of line here, but if the negative attitude that you display about americans on this board is the same attitude that you display when you are out on the town, then it is no wonder that people treat you rudely.

With that said, I hope you meet people that will treat you with respect and courtesy, and that you will begin to enjoy your stay in this country. Happy Christmas.

I reiterate. Americans are known worldwide as being the most courteous, polite, non-confrontational, hospitable people on earth.

That seems a bit harsh...I've lived in the Southern U.S for 9 years and on the whole have found most people very friendly

Now tell me, how can we bring some of those differences here. You know, get the locals to adopt them?

I'm thinking of the kind of things that go on on these forums - healthy debate, piss-taking, filthy humo(u)r. Do you know what I mean?
