I need orthopedic surgery and have been recommended Jackson Memorial in Miami - it works along with Miami Uni and has a very high rating in US hospital standards.

Are you just considering it because it was recommended to you? Do you have the option of going anywhere? I don't think it was ranked in the US News top hospitals report last time it came out but that's not to say it isn't good. I only know personally about the Cleveland Clinic (boo) and University Hospitals (yay), sorry.

it has been recommended sort of - and their ratings in the hospital states looks good so I'm just hoping it will be okay - I'm sure it will. Cant be worse than our local NHS back in the UK for sure

The Uni type hospitals tend to be better but you really need to check the doctor who will be doing it, Florida is full of arse holes I had one wanted to chop me open promised the world so I got a second opinion he refused to do it saying it was totally inappropriate and would cause nothing but trouble 'In a young man such as you' The hospital just have contracts with doctors so check them out.
