Default Anyone from the Oxfordshire area?

Just wondering if anyone was from the Oxfordshire area? It's a long shot, but hey, we can chat about home! I'm missing it at the moment, I could murder a picnic at Stratford Upon Avon! (Not sure that's even possible though!!!)

I am originally from Oxford. I lived in Marston and Headington. A picnic in the University parks or a punt along the Cherwell are things I miss terribly.......

Ooooh - my daughter was a boarder at Headington School when she was taking her 'A' levels, I loved the 'buzz' of the shopping area on the London Road.

Partystar....I'm from the Warwickshire area myself....was in Stratford Upon Avon about three weeks ago (an annual trip!) and we took a rented motor boat for a trip on the river....sadly I can't find any rivers over here in NJ where you can do this....

I'm hearing you loud & clear. I used to work at the Radcliffe Infirmary, John Radcliffe & Chuchill hospitals, so I'm familiar with Marston & Headington. I really miss nipping down town for a long lunch or going to The Trout. I remember having meetings in the pub across the road from the RI, gotta love British meetings!!! Aahhh, those were the days. I'd love to go back for a few weeks, but have filed for COS, so am not allowed to leave the country (or have I misunderstood that rule?) anyone working on a teleportation device?!?!?!?

I loved doing that, we rented a motor boat a few days before I had my Son (last summer), against my overly protective Mother's advice!!! My Son's first boat trip was on the Stratford tour boat when he was about a week old, Mum told me not to do that also!!! Mothers, you gotta love 'em though! She's coming to visit me in 2 weeks & I can't wait!

You can travel abroad as long as you've got AP...just as long as you don't have an overstay or any other problems

And the Trouts a great pub...so was the Victoria Arms a few years ago, until management changed and they went shite...

That's fun too! My friend lives right next to the new stadium in Greater Leys. It's not too bad around that area, they are adding load's of things to do now that the stadium is up & running, so my mates house price has gone up, woohoo for him. He's 1 of 2 of my friends who actually managed to get on the housing market, lucky sods!!!

I'm not from Oxford, but I went to University there. I too miss the joys of Cowley Road (the non Blackbird part!).

Sadly I went back to the Vic Arms recently. Aweful experience. How the mighty can fall.
