Anyone heard of Giffgaff?
Hey all,
I'm being lent an iPhone for my trip back home next week and I have two sims being sent to my parents. One is Orange and I can get unlimited texts and 1Gb of data with calls at 30p a minute for 10 quid (plus a one0time bonus of a fiver).
The other is an online company called Giffgaff. For the same tenner, I get 500 free minutes, 1Gb data and unlimited texts. The website says it uses the O2 network.
We'll be in Milton Keynes, Central London and Wembley for the week, so my question is, which one is best?
Any advice appreciated.

As long as the iPhone is unlocked to all networks, Giffgaff is a no brainer.
Used it before and it's great - since they don't own any of the infrastructure they seem to be able to charge far less.

Yes, the iPhone's unlocked.
Do I get a number assigned when I activate it? That's the one piece of information I can't find on their website.

I used GiffGaff while back home this summer. Worked fine and will use them again. When I activated the service after being sent the free sim they also gave me a number. I found it a great deal.

Some of my relatives have used Giffgaff while visiting me in London from abroad. It seems to be very good value for money.

Just to confirm, I'm using giffgaff and it works well. It took a little while for it to get authorized, but for 10 quid, it's been perfect for calls, texts and internet all over London and Milton Keynes (and points in between, including Wembley Stadium!).
Definitely recommended, but you MUST have an unlocked GSM phone.

I've been with GiffGaff for a while.
The service is pretty good and very cost effective.
However they have had some downtime in the last week. ( a few hours last Friday and again yesterday).
This isn't common but you should be aware.
