Anyone had problems with Roadrunner email?
I finally got hooked up with broadband (bought a decent computer, yipeeeee!) and went through Time Warner/Roadrunner. Everything is working well, except the Roadrunner email address that they gave me...
Everything else I do is really fast, but when I try to access email or even compose a message it takes literally 5 mins to open the window.. I am wondering if I should just get an email account with Yahoo or whomever...
Had Bellsouth dial up before, and I had an email with them (web based) which I am loathe to quit using, just because everyone has that address - but I am assuming it will be like Freeserve in the UK - after 3 months of not dialling up with them, it just disappears...

I have Roadrunner, and e-mail, using Outlookk Express, is almost immediate to both download and send. You should speak to Roadrunner as something is clearly not right with your set-up.

Been using RR for email since I moved to the US (over 2.5 yrs). Never had a problem with them except during power failures.
I'd say it could be a problem with your computer or your OS.

Services like RR are really designed to be used with an email client like Outlook Express, so try that out.

I've just had terrible problems with Outlook Express onto an IMAP server (not your problem I know). It was taking forever and a week to connect and continuously timing out. After an hour of cursing, turns out it was the antivirus program (Avast!) messing it up. Maybe try disabling your antivirus for a few minutes to see if that changes anything. Don't leave your computer in that state though!
