Anyone else jobhunting?

Re: Anyone else jobhunting?
... Especially when you have taken the time time to fill in the online application form for company A which looks exactly the same as the one you filled in for companies X, Y and Z, which in itself leaves me feeling like I've had deja-vu for the last 3 hours or so!!
I have never understood why there is not ONE official USA Job Application form- PDF fillable format for those who can, paper for those who can not. Fill it out one time, copy it 1000 times, and it saves an hour or 2 for every company.
I just mail resumes plus a cover sheet, if they want an application they can have me fill it out at interview time, or when they hire me.So far I have gotten 3 nibbles out of 80 odd resumes, one interview this week and 2 next week.
Fingers crossed.

Re: Anyone else jobhunting?
Round our way, probably 99% of the job ads on craigslist are scams. I went through a phase of replying to a bunch in one go (bcc-ing from a throw-away address) just to see what came back. Roughly 50/50 marketing data harvesting vs identity theft, on the surface.
But I got bored with that. So I did this.

I haven't had a single reply to this morning's batch, so it's probably time to change email addresses. What do you think about:
- Charles Manson
- John Gotti
- Lavrentiy Beria

You might be right. Or possibly the same script running on two separate hosts. (Incidentally, AFAICT, the harvester sites I've looked into seem to be running on pukka rented servers, rather than botnets or bullet proof hosts. Which suggests that not that much is being done about it.)

Cheers.
Company near me is training drivers just wondered if it was some kind of well known thing to avoid, sounds too good to be true.
The company, oddly enough is called England , This is a link to the add. I've been Job hunting for ages now starting to lower my sights every day lol

As a slight off topic aside, on thing that always amazes my small mind here is that the majority of truckers seem to be thin wiry dudes, whereas in the UK, the majority are Full Monty Breakfast lads The conclusion I draw from that (and knowing what working is US society is like in general....) is that they are probably worked a lot harder under different terms and conditions than in the UK.....I should expect Pat will be able to give you the lowdown, I think he has done some trucking both sides of the Atlantic.

They basically twist your arm into leasing the truck from then under the pretence that they'll give you so many miles and so much money that it looks a great deal. In truth its a crap deal and you'll end up having to work for basically nothing because your tied to leasing a piece of shit truck from them and totally at their mercy.
Do a search of truck driver forum on CR ENgland and you'll see what I mean.
If you go driving get a job as a driver not an owner driver.
Learn the ropes before you get greased up and shafted.
