Re: anyone else have problems adjusting??
People walking are suppose to have right of way and for the most part they are given that, but, BOY do they rub it in !
Could they walk any SLOWER !! I swear they do it on purpose. Even in parking lots, they are walking in the middle of a section, totally ignoring the car right up their arse and God Forbid you blast the horn at them.
I always think of that movie "Death Race 2000" where you get points depending on how many pedestrian's you can hit !
But, on the other hand. DON'T have an accident here, either walking or driving, as there is more than a 75% chance no one is going to STOP.
It is WAY more common to be hit and the driver flees. Here you have to have Unisured Motorist coverage.
And if it rains here LOOK OUT !! 150 accidents in one town in the first 30 minutes of rain !! LOL
Lane changing using indicates are virtually non existant, cars use what ever lanes despite their speed. Many times I've been in a lane and cars from the two lanes on other side of me are coming into my lane at the SAME time, no indicates, nothing. Luckily they avoid each other by inches.
I was told it's the most legal way to kill someone in California, as long as the person is jaywalking and you stop, then you are ok.
Plus you have 90 year old people using gas pedals instead of brakes and ending up IN the store that they've just left !
But, here it all boils down of lack of public transport, you have to drive a car, no matter what, and if you take your chances walking, it can be a game of CHICKEN to cross the road, because they feel it is to far to walk to find a legal crossing place.

There was a case in Tampa a while back, a rich girl ran over and killed someone, and then just went home. When it came to trial, she had a top lawyer, and got away with it. Unbelievable.
