Anyone in the Denver, CO area
Hubby has been offered a job in the Denver area, and we were wondering which are the nice areas to live in and which ones to avoid. We don't really want to be living in a "Edward scissor hand land, ie houses that are so close together you could touch them. Also how bad does the weather get there in the winter. We live in New England so the winters can be pretty bad here. Thanks in advance for your help.

I last lived in Denver 6 years ago - but would move back there in a heartbeat, I loved the place. Whereabouts in Denver is the job your hubby has been offered? I'm thinking that you mean a planned community when you talk of " not wanting to live in Edward Scissorhand land" (can't blame you there!).

I'm in Denver. Email or PM me.
It's generally a wonderful place to live. The weather isn't as bad as you think. 300 days of sunshine annually. And even in the winter, because of the dryness, it doesn't feel that cold. Although I did once ski in -35 C weather which, while I'm glad I tried it, I wouldn't do again.
We do have bubonic plague carrying squirrels and brown recluse spiders but I've never heard of anyone having a problem with these. The thing you have to watch out for are the snipe (there are annual snipe hunts to cull them) and young girls in SUVs like the one rear-ended my beautiful Jetta TDI in the Chick-Fil-A drive through on Saturday.

I plan to but too many distractions. Can't really think of what would be of benefit and useful crap to include!! Hints, ideas?!?

hehe..yeah, it's hard, but once it's started, i'm sure others will contribute....what's worth including, places to visit, places to eat, stay, climate, that sort of thing
