I'm a little far from DC, but i'm pretty sure we have some peeps closer. Hope you settle in quickly and find some new friends soon. You can always hang out on here for company when you need it, we are pretty friendly most of the time:lol:

Hi Vicky - I live in Vienna - about 15 minutes outside of DC. I have been here a year - and it is hard to meet people at first - but it does get easier.
There are quite a few Brits in the area . I have just joined the Brit meetup - and am going to my first night out with them next Friday - at Sequoia in Georgetown. Why dont you join this meetup and come along too. You need to contact the organiser, Nancy

Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I am not actually a brit but am an aussie. All my friends in melbourne were brits and they suggested this site. I prefer brits anyway. Is that ok?
