Anybody have an insurance savings bond mature while abroad?

Not even sure if that is the correct term for what I have had just mature? But anyway, I had a policy with Liverpool Victoria that has just matured in the U.K. I have to sign some papers and then return them before I recieve my cheque. Then I believe on the actual maturity date in febuary, they come by with the cheque and you sign for it. Has anybody had one of these mature while living in the U.S.? As I want to have them give the cheque to my mum so she can pay the money into my U.K. account.
