Red face Any expats living in Princeton NJ

Having just moved here nearly three weeks ago I haven't met any Brits living in this part of New Jersey yet.

It would be nice to meet up with any one who has relocated from the UK living in this area.

Desperatly missing bisto gravy powder and Tetley Tea Bags!

You can buy Tetley's British Blend tea at most supermarkets. Try Super Stop n Shop, Shoprite, Wegmans...they stock it. Also look at the Irish section in Super Stop n Shop...you may see Bisto there.

You will probably find several stores that stock British goods...it's just a question of finding them. I've come across several in NW NJ. Several malls in NJ have 'Irish Shops' they sell a good selection of British goodies.

Just a couple of miles to the north in Belle Mead. Been here for a year or so ... There are a few of us around here who say tomahto you'll be pleased to know.

I'm not aware of any ex-pats meeting group around here. I joined a badminton club and found some fellow Brits that way.

I think you'll find McCaffrey's at Princeton North Shopping Center sells Bisto and Tetley's as well as a few other UK delights and Bon Appetit next door has a large, but expensive range of UK and European foodstuffs and things like proper tea, cheese, etc.

Hi 'Wegmans' in West Windsor has a British section as do all 'Stop and Shop's in the area. Also Indian grocery stores (there are a lot in central NJ) sell some British goods like baked beans, cadbury's chocolates, ribena, lucozade and bird custard to name a few.

What brings you to princeton?

Yo I live in Princeton Junction/West Windsor, so I'm only a short 'Dinky' ride away from town. I've been here 5 yrs with my mum and dad, tho I'm presently at university .

About the British products, my mum and I shop at Wegmans and what the other people say is true.

There is a McCaffrey's in both Princeton North and West Windsor, the latter of which which also has a wine and liquor shop. We don't shop there quite as often because its pricey but they have good stuff there.

Anyway, if I'm ever in town, I'd be up for some chin-wag eh ?

Cheers

About twice a year we take a day trip down to Princeton (even though it's less than 20 miles away - actually one of my regular cycle rides takes me within a mile or 2 of the centre). Last time we were there we were sitting outside a cafe having a drink and met a very friendly Scottish lady who'd been there for many years. She told us to give her a call next time we are down that way, but we haven't been back since.
