Not exactly close by, but a 4 hour drive South. :)

There was a thread about San Antonio a couple of years ago I think, turns out there were quite a few expats in the area so you might want to search for that. Welcome btw, SA is a great city, hope you enjoy it!

A lot of older brits in SA, due to the Air Force and Army. We moved here in June. A lot of Brit flag liscense plates (front bumper) around. A couple pubs, but not great expat hangouts.
