Dentmaster Ryan is on a distinguished road
Default any advice would be great!

Hi everyone,

i would like to say a big hello, tell you about my self and hopefully, somebody can tell me what chance we have of moving to the usa.

Firstly im Ryan and im 24yrs old, im married (Lisa 25yrs). no children. we would like to move to Bloomsburg pa. i have a british uncle there, he's been there 9 yrs. he has a very good business there.

i am a qualified vehicle body reapair and paint technician (NVQ 3), i have my own business here in the uk and now specialise in vehicle paintless dent removal.

my wife is a qualified nursing assistant (NVQ 3) 7 years experience, who is fluent in british sign language, and is currently working in a medium secure mental health hospital for the deaf.

we would have roughly $120000 to take with us, i would like to set my own business up there eventually, but my uncle will employ us to begin with.

we have no criminal records.

any help would be greatfully recieved
many thanks Ryan & Lisa.

Welcome to BE

Look through the immigration forums and http://britishexpats.com/articles/us...rk-in-the-usa/

For the ways in....looks like the money's a bit of the scimpy side for an investment type visa...your uncle won't be much help for you by the sounds of it visa wise and your qualifications don't need poo over here, but the missus being a nurse is probably more useful.

In addition to the info/resources given by other posters, the US uses "American sign language" (aka ASL).

yes Ray you do, even then its not without its difficulties, if you trained more than 3 years ago then you dont fulfill the requirements to take the required licensure exams.
Plus the visas for nurses have presently run out, more may get released this year but no one knows when although April is likely.
i wish they would hurry up
by the way i dont think NVQ means anything over in the USA im afraid

EDIT i mean less than three years ago not more its the new training thats not up to scratch for nclex purposes

I was a paramedic, then attended nursing school.
Im in PA near Philly, about 2 hrs from Bloomsburg.
This site might help your wife
http://nursing.careers.com/Pennsylvania.htm

Also, once you are here, if you employ an attorney(solicitor)..it isnt to difficult..or too expensive, to obtain your green card. No matter what you hear, once you get into the US, with an attorney the greed card is a formality.

I work with US Rugby League, and we have players coming here on quite a regular basis from UK, Australia, and NZ..it isnt too hard.

Surely you must mean if you didn't train more than 3 years ago, you don't fulfill the requirements, it is mainly the modern nursing courses that are lacking not the ones from way back when
