Down in FL we have Sugar Ants, also known as Pharoah Ants. They are minute and they infest kitchens. I have tried all sorts of things and found that "Taro" which I buy in Walgreens is the only thing that stops them. It contains sugar and borax. The ants take it back to the nest as food and the borax kills the queen.

Mosquitos shouldn't get in if you keep the doors and windows closed.
borax really does work....its used in a lot of garden centres.......

Thats funny, I work at Dial who make borax and have seen in writing how people in Florida use it for insects. lol

For the Ants, try Combat Source kill(Another Dial/Henkel company). Stuff worked great on a big nest I had outside within a few days.

p.s. for Fire Ants in the garden I have tried various things and have settled on Amdro bait. We have been in the house over 3 years now and have had no fire ants for almost 2 years since using it.
