There are two phonetic alphabets in use in the USA. The military and civil aviation folks use the one we know. The cops, EMS guys and the like are forced to use the "A as in Adam, B as in Boy..." kindergarten bollocks. Poor bastards.

Septic Tank Yank. A type of rhyming slang I first heard on a British military forum. It's so confusing (to outsiders) it might as well be Aramaic.

I think you'll find that Cindy know where the term originated. I suspect she was making a point...

Yeah, I KNOW what it is, and I do NOT like it.

Some it doesn't bother, me it does.

That's probably because you lot can't even understand each other. Totally different accent from people 10 miles away? Sort yourselves out, I say.

I agree too. Seems like whoever came up with the word septic was angry at us or whatever

If Barclays India can manage it, you can too. A 5 minute phone call which includes trying to spell something over here makes me want to chew my own arm off rather than go through that again.

A little more effort please, people.
I have absolutely NO idea what you are talking about ! You seem to be implying Americans haven't learned something that 'the rest of the world' (or NATO) knows. I was born/raised/educated (to engineering degree level, London University and all that) in UK and know not of what you speak ....

Ah the irony ... (some) Brits are so proud of their regional accents, and will make no effort to adapt/tone down, but they will complain about others not learning some 'standard means of communication' ...

I agree, although I did learn the UK style phonetic alphabet as a kid (not sure why )
Seems like some people just like to have something to moan about in public.
