What a sorry, sordid tale that is. Per some facts near the end of the article, it doesn't sound like the prosecutor's version of events is at all plausible: the victim was not a regular marijuana user, but he was found dead with his pants down and with a condom wrapper, but it was a drug deal gone bad, not a sex crime? However you spin the story, though, Mee set the victim up in a situation that ended with him being shot, so she can't exactly claim to be innocent, but it also sounds like her lawyer did a poor job by not more thoroughly implicating the woman who was by all accounts, a prostitute. There is plenty of material for an appeal, I think.

Anyhow, it all sounds like a sub-plot cut from Pulp Fiction.
