Annual leave / vacation time US
Hi guys,
I'm hopefully halfway though my CR1 visa journey and am itching to get on and search for a job in the US, I have spoken to a few friends and family and most corporate companies seem to have 10 days leave per annum, is this the case for most companies and do different industries have longer breaks?
Thanks
T

Often there is personal time and you may of course be able to negotiate more.

I’ve not heard of medical cover/ health insurance being a negotiating point. All plans will cover the same things because they’ll be ACA-compliant; the only difference will be the cost. The company will have a group plan, maybe 2-3 different ones with varying deductibles and premiums, but your only choice is to take it or not (hint: take it).

Probably best to assume vacation/ personal time won’t be negotiable, at least not for your first US job. Maybe more so if the second job headhunts you.

Thanks for the heads up.

I work for Florida State, very generous leave allowance.
6 hours per 2 week period, it soon builds up.
Plus all national holidays and usually a 5 day brake over Christmas new year.
Then 8 hours sick time allowance per 2 weeks work. Never get to use that, just maxed out.

I get 10 days and up to 4 "personal choice" days (For example I took MLK day off, but I may not take Veterans day off etc etc).
