Default Anchor Baby for Covid Travel!

I am British, my wife is Japanese, we had a little American last year! We are in the US on an E2 visa. My family in England would like to meet our new son, but my understanding is that we cannot reenter the US if we holiday in UK? I was wondering if my son being American would enable us to get back in. We are vaxed to the max.

You can travel back given that your child is a US citizen.

Good luck! I traveled with my daughter from London to New York when she was 8 weeks old, and Los Angeles to London when she was 11 months old. She slept through both times, luckily!

We travelled London to Miami when our daughter was six weeks old. That was really easy, between her being quiet and placid, and staff/passengers doting on her. A few months older, they can be problematic.

As mentioned, you can.

We have an Egyptian / British friend.
He has 2 anchor babies, he's just returned to Cairo after being here a month or so.
They let him into the States with no issues.

It is interesting how different the advice given by doctors seems to be on when it’s safe to travel international with a baby. This was all pre CV19, ans US-UK-US but I recall our pediatrician recommending we wait till way later, I forget which but there was a shot we were waiting for.. but it was close to a year old..

Are people on here seriously calling their own children Anchor Babies? That is shocking.

Well people call the E2, the visa from hell… so maybe this is their long term strategy.. but this is not the classic “Anchor Baby” scenario where they come to give birth and then leave again. I think the organized ones don’t come back till school age, so they qualify for instate college and then once 21 they can sponsor the parents..

I can't quote the text like others can. Why it is the visa from hell?

Isn't there like a 10 or 20 year wait for the green card with your parents or your son or your brother? Marrying a yank is a very quick but the family isn't is it?

Under the post you want to quote, you'll see a 'QUOTE' button. Click on that and a new window will appear with that post - you put your reply under that.
