Americans fail to qualify for the Olympics in Baseball!
Yee Gods! This is a little like us lot being told to 'go home' after losing a cricket game, or maybe even a football match.
How can the Yanks lose at baseball, I ask? Argh...never mind..they did win WW11 though, right?. *S*
Before any of you 'sound off'; this is tongue in check, loosen your corsets, or jock straps; whichever is more fitting...and if your are confused, loosen them both

The sad part about this, is that Roger Clemens will now not get a chance to add a gold medal to his hall of fame career. As he planned on playing in the Olympics after his retirement from MLB this year.
Its not actually as shocking as it sounds. You only need to look at how many latin American players play in the major leagues, to know that those countries are imerging(sp) as talents. Plus the fact that the US team has no major leaguers playing for it, so its not exactly the cream of the US crop out on the field. Maybe they will copy the basketball, and add the MLB players like they did the NBA players in Barcelona back in 1992, after they got a butt whooping fielding college players in Seoul 88. But even they got a shock, when the NBA players lost in the last world championships.

The yanks never won WW2. For the most part, they weren't even involved and by the time they were, troops were retreating and the war was over.
And this is not tongue-in-cheek.

Hello Andii,
Did they take away your sense of humour, when you entered the land of sheep then? *S*
This was very much 'tongue in cheek'' humour, and as we all know, the Yanks never won any war to their credit. Your move old son. *S*

Wondered what the reason was...sounds like they need a baseball dream team.

Rest assured that Hollywood will remake history so the triumphant US underdogs beat North Korea, Cuba, Iraq and Al Qaeda in the final to win the gold medal.
