hello all

I'm going to see my family in the UK at christmas, and i want to take gifts back which;

1) can be legally taken to the UK
2) are unlikely to be found there
3) are great

any ideas? I used to live in Switzerland; it was easy there... chocolate and more chocolate (couldn't afford the watches!!)

Gourmet pancake mix and maple syrup is what my mum always loves.
She like those Orville Redenbackers extra butter microwave popcorn packets too. Oh and you should consider the price difference of booze, my Dad is going to get a nice bottle of bourbon or whiskey, I'm thinking something like Seagrams VO Gold or Crown Royal which isn't available in England (I think)
Cosmetics are cheaper here too, Kiehls is a brand of moisturisers and make-up I love but costs an arm and a leg to buy in England and is hard to find. Over here you can get it in any Macy's or whatever.

smuckers natual chunky peanut butter is fantastic. for the few brits who like peanut butter it is better than anything available in the UK. along those lines, reeses cups are a hit.

I guess it all depends on who you are buying for..
My girlfriend came over from the UK and we did some Xmas shopping while she was here, she brought a lot of Burt's bees (www.burtsbees.com) products for friends, various hot sauces for her parents, a skateboard for her son-apparently a lot cheaper over here, she also brought a lot of old navy hoodies for her hubby and kids. If you are buying for anyone with a baby I think the little padded seat covers for shopping carts are fantastic and I have never seen any at home.
