I was talking to a RN yesterday who is also a qualified Financial Adviser. I think her patients are shall we say of the older variety and so many had issues due to both medical costs and end of life estate planning etc it seemed a natural combination.
You have the biggie covered, a way to get here so what do you want to do do is more a career planning issue. |

He doesn't have a problem as he is american , our girls have dual nationality, he is able to move over and stay with his uncle until he sorts out car, rental etc. I have read that it will be difficult for me to move and work as a nurse with all the exams etc plus I know I have no theory in maternity and paeds and obstetrics. I don't mind going over and not working as a nurse as long as I can get a well paid job doing something!! Any ideas what to do ? If I do go over as a nurse which is ideal what the heck do I have to do to obtain that theory and practice in those fields I am missing?? thanks so much in advance 😘 |

If starting to work right away is important you might look into getting certified as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) until you can get your RN credentials. Pay is more than unskilled jobs and would be good experience for future RN career. Your employer may even pay for the courses needed to get your RN. |

In the few rural TN hospitals I have worked as a Pharmacist LPN’ s were an important part of the nursing staff. I retired in 2012 so things may have changed somewhat. |

You might want to take a look at the AllNurses forum. There was some talk there, a while ago, about KCLH providing some courses that would make up for deficits in Peds,Obs etc. for UK Registered Nurses wanting to register in the US.
