American gal....for now?

Re: American gal....for now?
There are stunning parts to the UK, I would add loads in Scotland, but OP only wanted England
The only thing I'd say about Lincolnshire is its hard or takes a long time getting in and out of it re rest of England.
If you like the country Derbyshire is lovely. I lived in Derby before coming here.

I am drifting off thinking about proper English summers (not downpours)...nothing is better than a English small town or village on a lovely hot day/early evening.

I lived in Lincoln for 2.5 years, I loved it. I really like all that side apart from the tip that is the city of Nottingham . East Anglia and Norfolk are also great. My friends live in Derbyshire and think it is terrific. I really like East Riding of Yorkshire too. Almost got a job in Northamptonshire, there were some really lovely places around there.

Though a word of caution to OP my MIL had to recently move towns as though she had lived in one place for 25 yrs she felt making friends was hard was very cliquey and snobby she said but she really likes her new town of 5 miles away and has made friends there.

Stay below Watford (North of London), southern England. Anything above Watford, no go areas.

Well no neither did I, the boyfiend was a boyfiend, all we did was get trashed to dull the pain of watching a relationship go south. Parts of derbyshire are very pretty though and worth a day trip. Dont think I'd live there again, too main sour memories.
