American Football at Wembley
It's all very exciting. This is just a test run for the NFL so I hope our football fans don't embarrass us today. I hope they don't just celebrate the punts and kickoffs.

Its not the first time though...I saw the Green Bay Packers play the London Monarchs back in the late 80's/early 90's...can't remember when exactly....no-one had a clue what was going on so we just found some americans (they were easy to spot!) and planted ourselves next to them and they talked us through the whole thing. Was kind of embarrassing when security kept coming round to tell them to sit down and stop enjoying themselves
There was something on the radio last year about the NFL wanting to play a superbowl in London...wtf was that all about...don't know what they were thinking - can you imagine if the FA said they were going to play the next FA cup in LA?

test run? It's the fourth consecutive season that there's been a regular season NFL game at Wembley.

as for the entire world watching, I think it's a bit of a stretch.
I reckon more people are watching Liverpool v Bolton.

Am I the only one that teared up when Jeff Beck did God Save the Queen before the game?

Re: American Football at Wembley
The first ever American football game played in Wembley was 1983 - Vikes vs Cardinals

As said, they have played games there for a number of years. A lot of people wanted it to be pulled because the match was so poor and they thought it would turn more people off than get them following the NFL.

That's pretty standard based on recent years and largely ignored as they are always going to sell out something like that. It's the people who didn't go and are not interested in American football that the NFL are after. Would you have classed that game as a showcase of the NFL that would make non-fans take notice and start gaining interest?
