Mexican, I give you, but there's plenty of good sushi and burgers around that I've tried in blighty, well around Oxford and London.

Iced tea - they appear to have lost the recipe in the UK.

The only thing I can think of is good Mexican food - but then since I lostmy job I make it myself so I guess I could do that back in England anyway.

Oh and someone mentioned Giffords icecream! The Black raspberry one....:0)

Apart from things like 'Maine Lobster' etc, everything else people have mentioned I used to get back in Blighty anyway.

Works both ways - over here I make sausage rolls, cornish pasties and scotch eggs from scratch, have converted my husband!

Anyway. As I can't go back doesn't matter doesit?! Hmmmph.

(2 weeks and 2 days til my holiday in England!)

Ruth :0)

Giffords was me...and it does rock! The missus told me she was at a restaurant once where the someone at the next table complained about the dessert, the ice cream was funky and he complained and the person muttered something about what did he know about ice cream, turned out to be Mr Gifford himself

And I think your right, it's mostly the local things that are missed because they don't travel so well.

I don't know, but do they have real barbecue, over there? I mean the slow smoked brisket, pulled pork, ribs, etc. rubbed with herbs and spices before smoking, and with zero barbecue sauce, I mean absolutely zero barbecue sauce, in sight, or even in the same county.

Making myself hungry.
