Default American Birthday cakes

Can someone tell me what it is with the icing on these things (or frosting as they like to call it over here)??? I've never seen such brightly coloured cakes...just one look and you immediately know that it can't be healthy!

On a related note, a friend tried some American colouring for a cake, but didn't read the instructions quite right, so she completely bypassed the dilution stage of the instructions. Everything appeared to be quite normal until the kids started to produce highly fluorescent turds...

That IS normal when consuming american birthday cakes! Dark blue, black & green frosting can be especially interesting the next morning...

LOL! I guess I've never been able to eat enough of a sugar cake to experience this particular benefit!

I've had maybe 5 pieces of cake in 18 months, including my wedding cake, they're disgusting. I dont think they could make it any sweeter or put any more on the cake if they tried.

Aye, instant diabetes in every mouthful...I'm not a big fan of the cakes over here myself.

There's a couple of good bakeries over here that do nice cakes, one of them, the person is from Austria I think, anyway, fantastic cakes...but way to expensive compared to the cheapo wally world ones...
