America is stuck with me for a few more years!.
My AOS was approved today and I should have my green card in about 10/20 days. Almost two years to the day that we filed the original fiance visa.

Thought the title was a reference to George Bush's second term. Oh well...
The US will probably be a better place for having you here legally!

I fortunately married my American bride in the UK, which simplified things to the extent that when we moved to the USA the GC was mailed out to me within about a month (from memory). Getting it was never a hassle. Of course it was a conditional GC and got the conditions removed and the GC converted to the standard 10 year version, and later took up USC ... essentially traded the GC for a US passport. I attended the USC ceremony the same day I got sworn in as a lawyer. Celebrated both events in the Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock on the "magnificent mile" in Chicago. I only invited the secretaries, the partners were no fun, but one of them did something nice, bought a big apple pie and the whole firm celebrated with me a few days later. That was nice.
