Re: Amazed
A year ago you'd have been lucky to find even that. My understanding is that while .380 is very popular in CCW states, it historically isn't a big seller for the ammo manufacturers. So they only did production runs intermittently between their big runs of 9mm - except that the Obama Buying Panic of 2009 meant that there was no "between". The 9mm machines were running nonstop. Things are just now getting caught up.

No, it isn't Opposites Day. Guns have only one purpose and that's to kill. Nobody should have them. Except the police.

Re: Amazed
I keep on meaning to get something, so many choices and it is a not a must get now purchase.
I think the CCP takes about an hour here, seems a good idea to get that as well.
PS I do have a chainsaw, now that is a dangerous beast if you do not know what you are doing. The Strimmer is the one I am most careful of.

Too right about "so many choices". I have my eye on a Walther PPS as a carry piece, but it's pricey and extra mags are ripoff pricey. An obvious alternative would be one of the compact Glocks, less expensive all round, but the Walther is much thinner and easier to conceal IMHO.

Yes, Kimber makes a couple of nice concealable models. Also on the short list.
If size doesn't matter, so to speak, the most comfortable pistol I've ever held and fired is the Beretta 92. By today's standards it's big and bulky for a 9mm but it handles well. The Ruger GP100 revolver has a lot of fans. If I were going to carry a revolver I'd be tempted to look for a Colt Python (unfortunately, $$$$$$ these days). But again, if size doesn't matter, I knew a guy in Texas who carried a 9" Ruger Super Redhawk in a shoulder rig!

The GP100 is on my list.
