Hi,
I have a Social Security Security number from when I lived in California in the '80s. But I don't have a Green card to my knowledge. Does having a SSN allow me to apply easily for a Green Card or other visa? Many thanks in advance for any advice, AJD |
No the issuance of a social security card does not entitle you to the right to apply for adjustment of status or any other visa. You need a basis for it, i.e. company sponsorship, marriage to a US citizen, refugee status. In the 80's SSC's were given out to any Tom, Dick or Harriet.
