Default Airport Transfers with young Kids

If you are not planning on hiring a car do you take your car seats with you just for taxi rides to and from airport? We are going to San Fran and are not planning on hiring a car but need to get to and from the airport with a 1 and 4 year old.

Or, depending on where you are going, you could just take BART from the airport to downtown San Francisco.

I just hold on to them real tight....

In most places its not required to have a car seat when in a licensed cab.

If I'm driving around privately or in a hire car I normally bring them with us or get them at the car rental place (they are crap normally).

My 2 yr old sat in hers on the plane and quite enjoyed it for awhile!

BART is dead easy from SFO and cheap.

You get on directly at the airport terminal and it takes you right into the city, its clean, safe and fun for the kids... rush hour can get a little busy though.

With City traffic a cab from SFO to town can run pretty $$$$
