AHHHH!!!! Misinformation
Hey all-
As I have posted multiple times earlier, when we went for our interview on May 1, the officer said that the CIA check was due back on May 7th and they would send us a note soon after.
My lawyer stopped by the INS today and checked on the case status. They found out that the I-181 (which is fingerprinted on day of interview) was SENT to INS on May 7th and there is a 90 day wait to get the response back from the INS. Apparently, this is the case for everyone adjusting status if your 485 filing date is very close to your interview date. Used to be that they would approve you without the CIA check, and then take away your green card if there are issues. However, I think after 9/11, they are waiting for the CIA response before approving your case.
They assured us that things would be ok, but we need to wait for the approval in the mail. That prolly explains why there has been nothing in the mail all last week...
