Popeyes fries just aren't as good as Zaxbys, it's the seasoning. I like Sonic though, the ability to order a burger for breakfast is something that I have taken advantage of on occasion

It's a South East chain. I think the most Westward they go is one location in Utah. I doubt there are any in TX.

There's one in the SW suburbs of Houston and another three in the northern suburbs of Dall-Forth Worth. AFAIK that's it for Texas.

Unless we need to go in that direction for something else I doubt I will make the effort just to try fast food

It's more of an up-market Subway, than true fast food - a deli sandwich chain. And in my opinion, it isn't worth the effort. I have eaten there once, maybe twice, and even though I know of at least two not far from me, I have never "made the effort" to go back; they're not bad, just unremarkable.

We do not have Fast Food where I live, however many people seem to rave about Chick Fil A

It's a chicken based fast-food restaurant.
I think 'deli sandwich chain' I think Arbys or similar.

I don't know where you're thinking of Pulaski, but that's not how I would describe it at all - since they don't do anything but chicken based meals. Tenders, wings, sandwiches etc.

I like Arby's but I wouldn't describe them as deli sandwiches.

I will 100% be checking out Zaxbys then! High praise indeed.

You appear to have redefined what "few" means?
Waffle Houses are so ubiquitous throughout the entire South East, from Virginia to Brownsvile, TX, that FEMA has developed the Waffle House index to assess how bad the local situation is, typically after a hurricane, based on how many Waffle Houses are closed, as they are all supposed to be 24/7/365 operations.
ETA FWIW There are reported to be 381 Waffle Houses in Georgia, of which 132 are in Atlanta.
I feel about the same way you do about Zaxby's - IMO Waffle House is consistently* the best place to get a fried breakfast when you're travelling, or locally, if you're not travelling. And I have never needed an antacid.
* The only bad experience I ever remember was at the one in Nashville, just across from the Grand Ol' Opry. The waitress was rude and inept, .... the ham, eggs, and hashbrowns were still great though. The next day we drove a few miles down the interstate for breakfast.
