Hi George and welcome to BE.

I had similar desires at age 15. My wife and I arrived here about 18 months ago on an L1 visa. This involved working for a US company in the UK, and having them move me to the US.

This required specialist knowledge and experience, which I got working for them. It did not require special degrees, though I do have a bachelor degree in engineering, and a masters in management training. In my US based role I am responsible for developing (training) a global sales force, so the masters was instrumental in getting the L1 visa.

The earlier you ask the question you have, and formulate a plan and implement it, the sooner your dream comes true, so good for you to be asking now. There are some great suggestions on this thread, so I hope they help you.

All I would add is that you also stay out of trouble with the Police... If you are aiming for permanent residency in the US, and even for some visas, a clean record (clean of major & certain other kinds of crime) is a must.

Lastly, thanks for making me laugh... I know you mis-typed, I do it all the time, but I love the thought that you soured the Internet!!!

Best wishes,

Harry

Study something that is in very short supply worldwide (Science/IT/Project Management/Entrepreneur) there are others but these spring to mind. You will be hired in lightening speed if you have the right skills. The Visa issue would go away like blowing through dust.
