Re: Advice about Burlington, MA
Burlington is the best one of the lot for furniture though, the one in Natick for books and kids stuff...the one in Westborough or there abouts is best for scabies.
The Indian grocery stores are fantastic though and the best highlight, able to get a massive bag of bombay mix kind of snacks for a couple of bucks and there's also a superb butchers shop next door in the lot for lamb and pork.
Arhaus, the furniture shop is next door to Beans, which is lovely and also one of the best little indie childrens store is in that lot too.
Not Your Average Joes, good place to eat whilst there.
Burlington, it's really a place to hang out because you've got work or a meeting there or some other reason to endure the place such as the Christmas shopping at the mall.
There are much nicer towns within mins in either direction to live in.

Lol, O.K you have a point - I thought it was a nice place when I went there but admittedly the witch museum I went to there was utter pants (I think most of the witch trial stuff happened in Danvers anyway). The 'House of the Seven Gables' was pretty cool though and by all accounts the Peabody Essex museum has a massive collection of Chinese stuff (I don't know for sure as I was overruled and we went to the pub instead).

Salem grew on me a bit. It also has a MBTA train service and also a seasonal fast ferry service to Boston (nice views as it speeds along the coast). There's a few good restaurants and a Beer Works that you sit outside!

They have a couple staple ones through out, but the rest seemed to be seasonal offerings from New England based breweries, MA mostly, some from VT and NH.

What's the name of the place? Want to look up in BeerAdvocate. I do have my shoes on just in case though...!

Another REALLY GOOD thing in Salem is the Old Custom House. It's the best historical building/museum that I've visited in America. Nathaniel Hawthorne worked there in his day as a Customs official. (Come to think of it, the Old Custom House in St. Louis, MO is excellent too. I guess we "Old Europe" socialists are suckers for Big Government....)

I like those stores. It really is "Good Stuff, Cheap." When we moved to Massachusetts in the seventies we outfitted our apartment there... and we still go back occasionally when we visit.

This thread has gone totally off topic to a discussion about beers.
I like it!
I seem to be seeing lots of nice stuff about Lexington so noseying around it at the moment.

Lexington is a lovely town and that whole Minuteman trail is lovely, great for kids as it's a easy walk and if you're into history, a lot of the spots along the trail have historic notes like where Paul Revere was captured, where the first shots were fired etc.
