Acronyms

Hi,

This country seems to have an amazing love for acronyms. They are everywhere.

I am job searching at the moment (oh woe) and I'm constantly having to look the blasted things up on the Acronym Finder I have saved on my favorites.

Did you know there are 88 entries for ASAP. 55 entries for LOL and only one for K9!!!

I suppose this is another thing about American life I should start getting used to.

Sue ;)

They're around in the UK too - if you'd ever been in the civil service there you'd feel right at home here! (Then why don't I???? )

Re: Acronyms

Pedantry Alert:

Strictly speaking an acronym is a pronounceable word formed by the intial letters of the full phrase or title. For example: NATO, UEFA, and AIDS are acronyms, while BBC, HSBC, and HTML are just abbreviations.
