Accountant please!!
 

Can anyone recommend a reasonable accountant that can file FATCA and FBAR for us and that understands the US tax system and a bit about the UK system please? We are US resident.

Hi, it would be great to find one locally in Bham Alabama to meet face to face but know this may not be possible. So someone that is used to working with someone remotely would be fine. We used Taxes for Expats our first year filing here and were good but can only contact by email and can take up to 48 hours. We will have a few things we will need to discuss on how to handle this year.

My accountant is good - although he only lives like 30 minutes from us, we did everything remotely via email and telephone. I never met him face to face. Obviously everyones tax situation is a little different but he helped guide us through my first year as a tax resident.

Yes please! Thank you. As you say everyone’s tax situation is different and I understand that. We are needing to find someone that understands how to file as I said the FBAR and FATCA but also knows a bit about an Expat’s situation.

I find the FBAR to be straightforward and file it myself, so I would suggest looking at it if you haven't already. For Form 8938 I had a good experience last year with Bright! Tax.
