I need help regarding Money Orders sent to the INS

I bought money orders to send into the INS.

Is there anyway to find out if they have been cashed?

I did call the gas station that I bought them from and they said no. I'm sure there is a way somehow.

If anyone knows how, I would appreciate you letting me know.
Thanks, Kady

Re: About Money Orders

Yes but you have to have the copy with all the numbers on it, and request it
from the Issuer of the Money order.
That information is on the back of the copy I believe.
Issuers of MO's usually charge for the service.
Don't worry they cashed it. :-) It's too early to panic!

Thanks David. I do have the numbers and I thought I should be able to track them because what if they were lost....I would need to get my money back and there would have to be a way to do that. I know it's too early to panic but as you probably know, INS makes you nuts!!!!!

Re: About Money Orders

If they are Western Union you can call them with the numbers or check out their
website.

Re: About Money Orders

Have you tried searching Google for the issuer of the money order? Perhaps they have a telephone number you can call or a way of requesting information, via email or written request. I purchased my money order through Travelers Express and called the number on the order stub. Good luck :)

Make sure you hold on to the tracking numbers of the MO's. That may be your only proof of having paid INS.

I too sent in MO's along with my application and never got a receipt for them. Some offices do not send out a cash receipt. I have the stub of the MO and I also made copies of the MO before mailing my application.

Thanks AmIinTrouble:
I did make a copy of the money orders before I sent them and yes, I did keep the stubs. I wanted to make sure I had proof that I had sent them.
