Post AA to fly from Newcastle UK to New York

Some info for those of you with friends and rellies in the North East. It's going to be an all-economy seating configuration (the press release gives the impression of a combi-jet: part passenger and part cargo?):

It's kind of old news, although the flights won't start until May next year.

AA have seen the profit made from Continental putting winglets on the 757 and using them on international flights to smaller airports.

It's good though that people have an option other than transfer in Heathrow.

However, if the 757 encounters strong headwinds, it's been having to stop in Gander, Newfoundland to refuel as it wasn't able to reach Newark. Which means people have been missing connections.

Look for Delta to expand their international offerings too. Part of their new marketing strategy is to cut back domestically and expand internationally. I'd like to see another American carrier go into Brum besides Continental.

I wonder if rowdy Geordies will be moved from the passsenger part of the plane to cargo if they misbehave?

They don't do free alcohol on AA in economy class any more, so I think we'll be able to behave ourselves for the duration of the flight
