8802
Folks,
I know this is going to be very subjective, but for those who have filed an 8802....how long did the process take before you saw some results on the HMRC tax side? I filed the 8802 with the IRS in early Feb, the application fee was very efficiently cashed but I called HMRC this a.m. and nothing has appeared yet from the IRS. With that said, sometimes I think its pot luck who you get at HMRC and whether they are fully versed with the process. The lady on the line said she looked in my file and nothing had been scanned in, that was it. I'm not sure she was that familiar with 8802.

Re: 8802
Just for future reference, I did get a letter this morning from the IRS stating they had approved the 8802 and sent the details onto HMRC. They also included a statement saying that I was a US Taxpayer. So there is some closing of the loop at this end which is good to know.
Thanks

Re: 8802
I don't recall exactly but was weeks rather than days for me.
When I first started receiving my UK pension they used an emergency tax code for PAYE and I then discovered that I needed to do the 8802 thingy even though I had lived in the USA for over 20 years and had been receiving my bank interest gross (had filed R45 many years earlier).
The 2nd monthly pension payment also had PAYE taken out but the 3rd month had the tax code set to NT (No Tax) and the first 2 months tax was refunded in my pension payment.
