Re: 50 Best Suburbs
'Our list was dominated by the Midwest, or more specifically by Ohio suburbs. This is likely due to several factors, most notably a reasonable cost of living.'

Re: 50 Best Suburbs
The only place listed in Texas is "West University Place" in Houston. There are a lot of suburbs in the sprawling Houston area, but West U is not one of them, it's 5 miles from downtown, or "a 17.7-minute trip from the Houston-Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area", as their description states.
I think their research might be a bit lacking.

Two in TN, two in AL, but none in NC, SC, or GA, and only one in TX. Something is seriously screwy with their methodology.

Re: 50 Best Suburbs
Tiburon, CA
Wellesley Hills, MA
Mercer Island, WA
Belle Meade, TN
Winnetka, IL
Darien, CT
Alpine, NJ
These towns are all extremely nice places to live but they are far, far from affordable. The list in the link is less a list of "best money-no-object places to live" and more about "nice places that normal people can actually afford".

Mmmm. Flyover states with either bad weather or high membership of the God Squad. Not my cup of tea. The only one I know well is Ballwin Mo as my ex brother in law lived there. I was not fond of Missouri

I don't live in Solihull now, although it's actually fairly cool there and I wouldn't mind. You can be in a London on the train in about 1 1/2 hrs. It has a population of over 200,000 for a start. I took my location off my profile because the weirdo-type people seem to comment on it, like the tinfoil UKIP bloke.

Having lived in Ohio for over 5 years, I am familiar some of those, but the only one I really liked, and still do, was Dublin. Signal Mountain, TN is nice, but some of the property tends to be expensive.
