20 pound notes

Just a heads for those, who perhaps like me, have a little UK money stuffed under the bed for trips back to the UK.

The old 20 pound note is not legal tender from tomorrow. Banks may exchange them for the new type, but it's at their discretion.

"The Bank of England will always exchange its old notes for face value. Notes may be presented for payment either in person or sent by post (at the sender's risk) to: Dept NEX, Bank of England, Threadneedle Street, London EC2R 8AH."

You had me worried there for a minute, I'm sure I've got a couple tucked away somwhere. :)

Yeah, always a way. Just obviously hassle to either mail cash or travel to London especially.

My wife found one tucked away in a drawer, so is going to change it for US dollars today just to be on the safe side. So at the current exchange rate, should be able to use that to buy a Big Mac :o :D

I was just worried my mattress wouldn't be so comfy if the stuffing was worthless. ;)
