$110/4hrs is the norm here, and you cannot find them.

My best friend did this for years. She used to do two jobs most days and earned a packet. The only reason she quit to work in an office was for the health benefits which she couldn't afford on her cleaning salary (single mom with 2 teen kids).

She refused to work for people with kids, that's how much the demand is here. Most of her clients were old folks who kept their houses spotless anyway, excepting for a single fella whom she demanded extra to do and fold his laundry, no ironing for anyone involved.

When you consider the fact that the min. wage then was $5/hr, who would want to work at MickeyDees?

Oh well, it seems the salaries vary hugely from state to state

She said she would come back, and I am very happy with what she has done, so I shall stick with her, but if anyone in the Houston area wants to employ a Scottish lass as a cleaner for $50 per hour, then, I am your gal

AND, I shall bring my own cleaning supplies (bonus)..

As I said earlier, she is very nice and that counts for alot

And, thanks everyone for your thoughts and comments

PS. I think I could set us business as Scottish Scivvies, what do you think

Lets see how this goes

Why not stay at home, take 5 hours out of one day, once a week, clean your own toilets and floors, and hand your husband a bill $125 and tell him for the extra $25 you will throw in some entertainment.

Scottish Scivvies sounds like a plan.
We could go national.I reckon I'm the cleaner in my house and I don't get paid anything .
I'm good at cleaning when I put my mind to it.

WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a f**king second here.

What's with all you people and having strangers cleaning your houses for you?????????
Talk about the idle rich!!!!!!

The enemy and I both have full time jobs and there's 6 kids in this house including a 9 month old....we don't have a cleaner and our house is always clean and tidy. Why? Because we make sure our kids put their shit away after they've used it and put their dirty clothes in the laundry room every morning after making (or stripping) their beds themselves.

The only cleaner I'd ever employ is Selma Hayek to polish my bell end with her larynx.
