The local university in conjunction with the local schools offered FREE courses to HS teachers that would lead to physics certification. Just saying.....

Yes, in NC they have a similar process called, I think "lateral entry".

Re: the comment on your following post, I realise there can be a lot of leeway between some states, but I think it depends on what state you obtained your license (and if you need to move to a state that doesn't reciprocate, you still have to re-license). The weird thing, if I remember correctly, is that you might find a state on the opposite side of the country reciprocates, but the state next door doesn't. I was mostly just trying to point out a potential pitfall - better to find out early and plan ahead than find out (too) late.

Do you know if they still fall under the yearly H-1B cap, or are they exempt from the cap, like university teachers?

I think they may be exempt if they are affiliated with a university (which most are now, as my school is), AND the petitioner must be enrolled in that program. I found this on

http://usavisanow.com/h1b-visa-teachers.html

Also, the first 20,000 H-1B petitions for people with an advanced degree from a US institution of higher education are exempt from the cap.

Non-profit organization/charity = no cap usually.

Well, I never realized that (that applies to me, but I also am looking to work in higher education, so it's not an issue).

read this thread with interest, there are so many clues, as to why the OP is not really in the US on a H Visa. (ive done my detective work
all the dates are wrong, dont match dont add up, etc etc.
She was probably too proud to say, what you all knew already, so posted just over a month later that she was in the U.S!

I daresay the mods or forum admin could probably check source IP on post #87 as a quick check, but in my opinion not worth the effort.
The feeling I get is that this doesn't add up either.
Well done to OP if it worked for you, if it is crap, shame on you for giving others false hope.

Getting well off topic but this tracking down only works so far. I have a VPN that makes it look like I am in the UK, so many places have open wi fi, I was in one pub that did not, but picked up the signal from the next pub that did. Also certainly in the UK you can pick up a Mobile Broadband for 20 quid from Tesco's, no name, no details etc, and you are as trackable as a mobile PAYG. I have used them on trains, that must be a confusing track.

I think we'd only be looking for a country as far as how specific the IP is.

But as you say, a VPN could knobble that anyway.
