Default Wrong embassy .. need Montreal info please

I have received package #3 & a VAC case number has been assigned by
Vancouver but my file has been transferred to Montreal and accepted by them
(as we requested). Montreal also has my DS-230 Part I, which was also
transferred from Vancouver.

I'm ready to request an interview date but I don't know if the Montreal
checklist requires anything different from the Vancouver checklist, and I
also don't have Montreal's fax number.

Does anyone know if Montreal will assign a different file number, an MTL
one? And would they reject my Vancouver checklist if I faxed it requesting
an interview date in Montreal? I'm all ready to go here, passport, medical
results, police check, affidavit of support, certificates up the wazoo, but
I don't know what my next step should be. Montreal isn't responding to my
email sent last week, I don't have the proper fax number for the checklist.
I'm glad I'm not in a frantic hurry or I'd be pulling out my hair by now.

I'm looking for a recent Montreal Package 3 checklist and, at a minimum, the
proper fax number to request a fiance interview. Can anyone help?

An update. Montreal consulate emailed me today to say that I didn't need to
return the checklist. They just noted on my file that I had emailed them
saying I had everything gathered. So now I'm waiting for them to assign my
interview date.

Transferring the file from one consulate to another did slow down the
process. I wish NVC would make note of the requested consulate and forward
the approvals appropriately. The CanAm group has had quite a few sent to
the wrong consulate lately -- doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason and
it does add to the consulate workload.

Back to waiting,

Sharon

Just wondering, the email you sent them last week, is it the same address as above? I'll be sending out my checklist in a few days, just wondering if I should mail it, fax it or email it.

The email address that I used was Montreal-IV/[email protected] but if it were
me, I'd forward the checklist in whatever manner they ask for normally. The
fact that my file was transferred from Vancouver to Montreal complicated my
file which is why I emailed them in the first place.

I'm GLAD they messed mine up. I was planning to be in Alberta and use Vancouver, but here I am in Ontario. They mysteriously sent my information to Montreal and saved me some time...

The problem might be that technically all immigration visas have to be adjudicated at the Montreal US Consulate. So the dimwit at the NVC who does the transferral doesn't take into account that Vancouver and Montreal both do K VISAS which are not immigration visas. But the personnel at the NVC might think of them as immigration rather than non-immigration visas. Perhaps our roving attorney might bring this up the next time he attends a tour of the facility hosted for the ALIA attorneys or he might have a contact at that facility who ear's he could place a bug in about this issue.
