Default Wrong Embassy!!!

HELP!!!

I am engaged to a Canadian. The BCIS recently approved my I-129F and
forwarded it to the National Visa Center. I clearly stated on the I-129F
that the US Embassy in Vancouver should handle processing my fiance's K-1
visa. However, I received a letter from the National Visa Center yesterday
which states that my petition was being forwarded to the Embassy in
Montreal. If I requested it, will they re-route my petition to the Embassy
in Vancouver instead?? My fiance' lives on Vancouver Island (only a couple
hundred miles away vs. Montreal - which is a couple thousand miles away); it
seems impractical for him to have to go all the way to Montreal for his
interview.

Also, since the I-129F form states that Vancouver should handle processing
the K-1, I'm concerned that it will be invalidated if the Embassy in
Montreal handles it.

What do I do?? I've already faxed the I-797 NOA to the Vancouver Embassy
and requested that they send out his packet since that's where I'd said the
petition should go anyway.

And just when things were going soooooooo well.....

Thanks for your help...

Yes, you may request that your file be transferred to the Vancouver. NVC
forwarded our case to Vancouver on April 4th (when we had requested
Montreal). I sent an email to Vancouver [email protected] with a copy
to Montreal Montreal-IV/[email protected] asking if they would transfer my file.

You need to ask Vancouver's permission to accept your case in the email.
The reply that I got back from Montreal included this statement: "As a
Canadian Citizen you have the right to apply in either Vancouver or
Montreal."

And by the time I received the above response, I had already faxed my DS-230
Part I form to Vancouver, thinking they were not going to transfer the file.
Vancouver transferred that to Montreal as well. A note ... if they send you
the Montreal information package, you'll may need to request the instruction
sheet for the Vancouver consulate (in case there are differences between
consulates).

Good luck,

Simple enough to fix. Call Vancover, there is a number on the US Consulate website, tell them what happened and have them contact Montreal for transfer of the paperwork. Hedge the bet by also calling Montreal and requesting that they forward the paperwork to Vancouver. This happens more often than you think.

Kiwaberry is an unknown quantity at this point

Our official approval said they were sending the file to Montreal, but it actually went to the Vancouver consulate like it should have. They might do the same for others.
